Development of high-performance ropeway sheave liners for the most heavily loaded roller assembly of the Renon Cable Car, with the aim of extending component service life, reducing maintenance requirements and ensuring operational continuity.
A solution made from FMI982 insulating rubber compound with textile reinforcement was developed to withstand high loads, wear and continuous mechanical stress.
The combination of the rubber compound, textile reinforcement and sheave liner geometry ensures groove-bottom stability, prevents slippage between the sheave liner and the pulley, and provides consistent performance even under the most demanding operating conditions.
The solution was validated through on-site inspections and laboratory testing after 6 and 18 months of operation.
The sheave liners maintained full functionality, showing limited wear, no slippage and a significant reduction in maintenance requirements, resulting in a substantial improvement in overall system reliability.
